Helmut Lang that is! These pieces are so interesting. I loved trying to figure out what accessories to pair them with. The clothing is all Helmut Lang, and the accessories a a variety of names. What a wonderful husband/wife collaboration, Nicole and Michael Colovos are a match made in heaven.

I love the idea of a classic picnic in the country.

Aviation....

So went to Joe Fresh today, well technically went to the grocery store which housed Joe Fresh. Found a few things, only bought one. A pair of baggy, cargo/aviation type pants. They look great with boots, and into the spring months, I can wear them with flats on not so cold days!

Worn with an American Apparel acid wash v-neck (softest t-shirt you will ever own), and Blundstone boots, they are the "Rigger" - totally waterproof leather, and super easy to wear.

Another thing I snagged today was this fur vest from winners, it was only $25, apparently the original price was $175 or something. Worn with my Gap alpaca cardigan, Gap bleached skinny jeans, and loads of bangles. The vest is dark brown, but it kind of looks black in these pictures. I am looking forward to wearing it WITH my aviation pants! WOOHOO.

That's all for now folks, chinese food and a fine french cake awaits me!

Fuzzy Fuzzy Fur

Fur is fun, but the faux kind is my most desirable... I just need to find some pieces like these that are not previously owned by a little bunny or something.

I want a cape... SO BAD!
Just a lovely wool, dark blue, purple or green one, with slits where my hands come out. Some leather gloves and my leopard print fuzzy hat, and poof! Insta-glam!!!

Ballerina Bun

Kathryn has so much more hair than me, it is actually kind of unfair. She looks great in the ballerina bun right? AM-I-RIT? Yeah I am, she wasn't sure, she never really is about the stuff I pick out for her, but since it was for my blog, she agreed. She wasn't too reluctant actually for any of the posts she has been in! She is wearing a studded acid wash dress from H&M, an old plaid shirt from a vintage store, aldo flats, and grey ribbed tights. The headband is forever21, and the necklace was my mom's.
Here is the second look I made her wear!

The bow is from a local boutique, and the flower is the same local designer as the headband from a few posts back... So pretty huh?!!

                                                           That's all for now, byeeeeee

Snakeskin and Tassles

We were going to go hit up some boxing day sales, and then we decided to take a few pics before! This was our second round of sale shopping, you have to do it in parts, it is just too overwhelming otherwise.

I am wearing BDG boots, american eagle jeans, and a big chunky scarf from Gap. My clutch is Nixon, and the bangles are a mix of forever21 and urban outfitters. My headband is forever21. Kathryn is wearing bailey button uggs, hurley jeans, a striped t-shirt from Gap, a French Connection blouse, and a Gap open front cardigan. Her bag is High Fashion Hnadbags. The hat is... Deluxe, I think.
We had a great sale day, got some sweet stuff!

someone's in the kitchen with Dina, someone's in the kitchen I know

OH DINA!
Is a gorgeous, amazing, wonderfully exciting company that sells hair accessories. I am talkin' headbands with big bows with feathers and mesh, metal flowers, more feather like things that I m not exactly sure what they are, basically they are a mishmash of stuff, on your head. I LOVE IT.

                                                             www.ohdina.com

The designer's name is Nicole McInnis who grew up on the coast of Nova Scotia, her studio is based in Toronto, and her pieces are sold all accross Canada. The pieces look vintage, but with a modern quirky twist. There are pieces like headbands with bows, or feathers, or swirly creations. Clips like the one I got that have a bit of everything, and those darling little vintage hats with the mesh and feathers that are oh so elegant. Her materials include vintage birdcage veiling, millinery horsehair braid, and feathers. All pieces are handmade, and no two are exactly alike.

I just got back from the trunk show, I got this amazing headpiece that I am going to wear allllllllll the time. I want to go back for a braided horsehair black bow headband with jewels and a metal flower that I died over.

Here are the pictures of my new toy... :)
That would seem to be it. I am pretty excited about it. I was writing my latest sociology assignment and got distracted. WOOOO <3 Go do something productive, like make your mom a mother's day card

I feel kind of like a superhero..

HOME FOR EASTER
so lovely, just so so lovely. I accomplished so many things...
1) ate way too much chocolate
2) dyed eggs with extraordinary ease
3) powered through a good 6 magazines yay Nylon and Teenvogue
4) ate way too much of everything, including some more chocolate

This shirt is from the 80's, I found it one day whilst perusing the racks at one of my favorite vintage/ local designer stores.
The details on it are really cool, the fabric is actually brushed two different ways so when you look closely it looks like a tiger. There is a zipper going all the way down the back with a cute little button at the top. I love the silhouette it makes, the seaming along the sides is quite strategic really.
Essentially, I feel like I should be captain on a star trek ship or something. :D
My gold cuffs came from a lovely little gem of a place called the black market. Not the illegal one my friends. No, this one is a real store, it sells vast amounts of jewelery and the likes, scarves and bohemian type tops and skirts and then there is the odd giant wooden penis, or tribal mask. Its a wonderland.
Mixing Star Trek with Warrior Princess? I'm down. Apparently. :)
That's all for now y'all!
Keep smiling, please and thanks. If you are having trouble- here is a little tidbit for you: I was walking down the street today and this old man stopped me and asked if I had the time, and then I said sure and told him, and then he laughed reallllly hard, like a legit belly laugh, and was like no you don't. Then walked away, I am pretty sure he was still laughing.
